I haven't seen anything about sound being supported anywheres in the 4.0
info - it doesn't even come with the sound module by default. However, I
do believe Linux does have at least a little bit of support for this card.
Have you recompiled your kernel with the sound module?

OK, what type of tape backup unit is this? Is it SCSI? Ftape?
See, the people on this list (and Red Hat support too) need more info than
just "I have a tape drive of type XXX" to help ;-)

Did you install MetroX? XFree that comes with 4.0 won't support it.
