Yes, I was in /var/tmp when I ran matlab. I did this because I have very
large files that I needed to load in that directory.

All four (now five - it happened again last night) times that this has
happened I have run ps -ef immediately after and there have been two cron
jobs running. At other random intervals I ran ps -ef and no cron jobs
were running. That said, I have no hard evidence.

I was still authenticated, or (once) when my tokens had expired I ran
renew very soon after.

Yeah that is what I thought -v was supposed to do. But i figured out that
if I add matlab_v5.3.1 instead of add matlab, I can run the older matlab.
I will contonue to do this until a solution is found.

Thanks a lot, and good luck.
