Same machine.

The other times I was running only emacs, emacs has never exited while
matlab and netscape always have.

Hmm... I am just looking at really big matricies, making various plots and
histograms and then printing them.  I have been able to draw no
relationship between functions I was running at the time (or lack thereof)
and the crashing behaviour, especially since it crashed sometime when I
had not even finished typing the command, sometimes when I was graphing,
and other times, when I had just performed a row or column deletion on a
matrix.  All things that I have done before in matlab 5.3.1.
