My solution was to install lilo on a floppy disk (there is an option to
do this). Then, you can boot from the floppy, and edit your
/etc/lilo.conf file to your hearts content.
I prefer to boot from floppies always, however. Every time I make a new
kernel, I produce two bootable floppies.
Handy when you forget to run lilo properly and get
