I'm trying to get a system set-up at a local university for Web page
and general file service via Red Hat Linux 4.0. I've put together the
following specs for a starter system. Can anyone offer any advice?

CASE
1 full tower case
1 300W power supply
      For maximum internal expandability.

MOTHERBOARD
1 PCI motherboard supporting up to 200MHz Intel Pentium CPU
  Intel Triton III chip set
      Triton II minimum.
  256k cache, expandable to 512k
  Plug-N-Play capable flash BIOS
PNP capable in case Linux ever supports it. Should the BIOS
be capable of botting the machine from CD-ROM? Is Mr. BIOS
a good option for Linux boxes?
1 standard 101 keyboard controller and port
1 PS/2-sytle bus mouse controller and port
1 on-board floppy disk drive controller supporting 2 floppy drives.
  on-board EIDE controller(s) supporting 4 devices
I prefer to have an IDE drive to boot from.
2 on-board fast serial port and controller

CPU
1 200MHz Intel Pentium CPU
      100MHz minimum.

RAM
32MB RAM, expandable to at least 96MB (128MB preferable).
      16MB minimum.

VIDEO
*** suggesetions needed *** I don't need anything fancy, since this
won't be a workstation.

COMMUNICATIONS
1 network card
Suggestions needed here. NE2000's are the standard at the
      university.
1 internal 28.8k bps modem
Recommendations? Anybody to stay away from?

SCSI
1 SCSI host adapter
Suggestions needed here, too. How well does Linux support
SCSI 2? Is there a SCSI 3? What about SCSI wide? Anybody
      to stay away from?

STORAGE
1 2GB EIDE hard disk drive
1 2GB SCSI hard disk drive
Don't want all my eggs in one basket, so two drives on two
      controllers.
1 8x ATAPI CD-ROM drive
In the past, ATAPI drives have been cheaper than SCSI drives,
and I'm going to have spare EIDE ports.
1 1.44MB 3.5" floppy disk drive
1 SCSI tape drive capable of storing 4GB uncompressed.
      Recommendations?

PERIPHERALS
1 standard 101 keyboard
1 2-button PS/2-style bus mouse
1 15" color SuperVGA monitor
      Recommendations?
