I recently used an Exabyte 8200 with 2GB capacity on an Adaptec 2940UW.
Kernel 2.0.32 and st support as module. I experienced no real problems.
Only while booting (and on rewinding) I got messages like:
"(scsi0:4:0) Target busy"
until the 60sec selftest (rewinding) was complete. after that the booting
continued normally. This was no problem however but somewhat annoying.
So at least Exabyte tape drives can work with Linux. I have no idea for
the parity error you get.
Does someone have an idea which format could be exchanged with Win95/NT?
reading a tar/dump/cpio archive with Windows could be tricky...

Karl-Heinz
