Problems with aic7xxx in 2.1.xx

Hi,
I've had many problems with newer kernels in both the 2.0 and 2.1
series. My problems were solved with 2.0.33, but I'm still having
problems with the 2.1 series.
I have a 2940UW and a Future Domain TMC-1680. With 2.1.80, all of my
scsi devices are labeled as 'sda' when they are detected, then booting
halts after the "Freeing unused memory" line. Does anyone have any
ideas as to what the problem may be?
