Oddly, I've also just had rpmupdate hang, this time in a manual
9.1.18->9.2.3 update on a freshly installed machine. The rpmupdate
process is unkillable. The machine is otherwise up, and is
bedding-plane.mit.edu. Even more oddly, the rpm database is not locked.

Package deletions were happening interspersed with additions. The
failure happened at 47% completeness, after finishing gstreamer-devel and
after printing "coreutils", but not actually having made any progress
with it.

Greg, any ideas? Should I save the state?
