No joy- I guess I don't have the magic touch.
I rebooted in single user mode, ran rpm -Uvh fglrx_6_8_0-8.512-1.i386.rpm,
rebooted again, X wouldn't start. Tried running startx as root- a bunch of
stuff scrolled of the screen, but I see:
Symbol rand from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.o is
unresolved.
Symbol srand from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.o is
unresolved.
Then,
Caught signal 11. Server aborting.
I put Xorg.0.log at https://web.mit.edu/alexp/Public/Xorg.0.log
