poor screen redraw performance on Dell 755s

Hi,
I went over this with Bill- on a new 755 I just received, screen redraws
when windows are moved around are very choppy. I don't see this on 745s, and
Bill sees the same problem on a different 755 (logged in as himself).
I'm using the default Metacity WM with no customizations.
Bill checked that the graphics driver was properly installed, and suggests
we may need a new one for the 755s.
