The internal sound cards in the black IBM Intellistation "E"?s do not seem
to work correctly with the default drivers (OSS?). They do however work
under ALSA. I wrote a script to install the correct drivers on these
machines. In my public directory (dcarr) under the alsa directory are the
necessary alsa files, script (installibmsound) and modules.conf
(ibmmodules.conf) file to
install and configure sound on these machines. All these files must be in
the same folder and run as superuser. Perhaps this will be of
use to someone. I'm sorry if this is the
wrong place for this post - this list was suggested to me by a friend.
