Hi,
I'm writing to express my appreciation for the work you've put into
the project database; the pages that display the projects IS is
involved in are a great way to share information and to make our work
visible. Too often we don't realize the service IS performs for the
Institute.
The project database will get more visibility over the next few weeks,
as the new IS pages go live. There is a link on the first page to the
project database. The development url is:
http://web.mit.edu/is/dev
In light of the new visibility, I'd like to ask if you could do
the following:
1) provide us with a web page of "all" projects that are sorted by
project name. The current "all" page is sorted by process, so the
reader is misled thinking all projects are in the "delivery" space.
2) consider adding an additional option in the "Practice" field. For
instance, if you look at the Search Engine discovery project
http://arachne.mit.edu/fcgi-bin/brlfcgi/brlpdb/projmod.html?projid=1026
the practice field includes the choices of "academic, office,
v/d/i/networking, and none." I suggest you add an option
representing "commons" or "all." The search engine for MIT web pages,
for example, is multi-practice.
Thanks for considering this,
Suzana
