Right, sorry to drop this one on the floor.
I *think* everything is settled with SIPB's news server order, so I
can ask Jenny to do a disk order. To keep things simple for her, I
would like to combine the news and AFS disk requests. This yields:

The first two items are for news, the second two for AFS. It would
cost $223.35 more to buy Wide SCSI disks for AFS, and would provide
approximately zero benefit (since I don't expect us to want to reuse
these disks for high-performance applications). In addition to the
above, we need to buy cables and terminators, which I'd like to order
separately from The Mate Company (http://www.tmcscsi.com). I have a
quote for what we need for the news server, which comes to $258.75;
presumably it would be about the same for AFS stuff.
(Incidentally, I realize I'm matching an "Ultra/WIDE SCSI" disk to an
"ultra SCSI" enclosure and an "ultra SCSI" disk an a "SCSI" enclosure,
which sounds a bit fishy. According to the product descriptions, the
DS50-S2W houses "Wide Ultra SCSI peripherals" and has a 68-pin wide
SCSI-3 connector, while the DS50-S1MM houses a "half-height SCSI
peripheral" and has a 50-pin microminiature SCSI-2 connector. I'm
confident that the 8-bit ultra-SCSI connector on the ultra SCSI
barracuda disk should be compatible with the S1MM enclosure.)
