Actually, some of the discuss meetings are moderated meetings, especially
the *_thoughts meetings. Most of the time this moderation is used to
keep flaming thoughts out of cheery_thoughts or bogus_thoughts or eve
or some other meeting where some of the readers would prefer not to have
to listen to flammage. In fact, a meeting was created for flammage:
Flaming_thoughts.
It had been requested earlier that this thread should be moved to
flaming_thoughts and a couple of people requested that it not because they
wanted to discuss it in a non-flammatory manner, and people had been fairly
good about discussing it calmly and politely.
It is hard to argue that adwright's posts are non-flammatory as many people
have accepted word's like "fuck" or "damn" etc. to express extremely strong
emotions against the subject of the noun they modify, or the ideas in the
sentence they precede or follow. As such, adwright's posts can be considered
flaming.... and I'm not going to argue that he has no right to post them here,
but I would argue that the moderator certainly has the right to remove them
because this is Depressing_thoughts, not Flaming_thoughts.
