That's not quite true.  Most courses when they repeat material don't
explicitly require the knowledge rom previous courses -- 6.002 teaches
a all the circuit stuff from 8.02 as well as a plug/chug method for
solving RLC differential equations.  I took 8.02, 18.03, and 6.002
simultaneously and didn't think any required each other.

The advantage is that by seeing the topics through different
perspectives at different times it sinks in.  While I don't explictly
remember at this moment how to solve an RLC equation, I can probably
figure it out, because I've seen it done a little in 18.03, more in
8.02, and in detail in 6.002.
