Um, Allstate is supposed to be pretty slimy as insurance co's go.
(Trying to weasel out of paying claims, and such.) Mine (Commerce Ins.)
seems pretty reasonable; when the Mouse got bashed in last month they
paid promptly, were reasonable about making alternate arrangements to
pay the body shop (**long story skipped here, ask me if you care), and
browbeat the other guy's insurance co. into paying, so that I wasn't
liable for my deductible, without hassling me about it (no ticket was
issued in the accident).
My agent is located in the Financial District, though; you might want to
find one a little closer to where you usually are between 8am-5pm. :-)
