At Alpha Beta Omega Chapter, we wear Blue and Gold backings behind our s
ervice pins (pledges weat it behind their service pins). This tradition
originated from our founding brothers who, when petitioning/chartering,
could not wear service pins nor letters because they were not brothers.
To show unity, and to show recognition for Alpha Phi Omega, they wore little
Blue and Gold rectangular ribbons with the English letters APO on them.
When we chartered, it was decided that this activity was worthwhile, and
was characteristic of Alpha Beta Omega Chapter, so we kept the tradition.
It has been a part of our chapter and pledging program ever since.
The ribbons are made of blue and gold fabric, and are about 3/4 in. wide
by 1/2 cm tall (Fits under the pledge/service pin). All brothers wear
this ribbon, although it's not required. (All brothers have the option)
