Are you registered to vote? Why not? Did you know that your Chapter can =
grant you up to one hour of service for voting, so let's all rock the =
vote! Voting is one of the easiest forms of service. It doesn't take =
much time, it's painless and easy. Registering to vote is now even =
easier. Region 4 has partnered with Rock the Vote to register as many =
Brothers and non-Brothers as possible.=20

One of the toughest area of service for most individuals to work on is =
"service to the nation as a participating citizen." Region 4 is trying =
to make that burden a little easier this year as an official Voter =
Registration Site.=20

All you need to do is click on the easy to use Rock the Vote banners at =
http://www.region4apo.org/ to register. Just click on your state and it =
walks you through it from there. Keep in mind that even though the =
election is November 2, most states end their Voter Registrations on or =
about October 4, so act fast! Pass this site on, you don't have to be a =
Brother to use it.

According to various voter websites, did you know...

During the last election, just about 500 votes determined our =
presidency. Given that such a small number of votes determined the 2000 =
election, it is clear now more than ever that one vote does make a =
difference. Consider:

Young People-According to the US Census, 42 million young votes aged 18 =
to 30 represent 25 percent of the voting population. But only half of =
those young people were registered to vote in 2000. These statistics =
represent the huge disconnect between young voters and the political =
process.=20

Women-Women make up 51 percent of the population and therefore are a =
majority, yet more than 70 million women are not registered.=20

Region IV's Service Chair has prepared two documents about voting and =
voter registration drives:=20
