Some confusion here: Windows can't see Linux 'partitions' (so a drive with 
one vfat partition and several ext2 partitions appears as a small windoze 
drive) but it can see a drive that hasn't been configured for it.  I don't 
know of any way to tell Windows to ignore a drive: it thinks everything in 
sight should belong to it.
