A good suggestion, since someone could break into the system and put
in bogus versions of common tools, which could wreak havoc on your
system.
I would think some of the errata do update those files. What you should
do next is run rpm against those files, to find out which package
updated them -- for example, try 'rpm -qf /bin/passwd. If it was updated
legitimately, then the RPM of the update would differ from the one
on the original CD rom.
