Netscape can be installed from an rpm file, or from a tar.gz file.
The rpm system does not know about, and cannot uninstall
anything that was installed from a non-rpm archive.
Could this be the situation? To see your installed netscape
packages, try
rpm -qa | grep netscape
Then you'll know if rpm can deinstall any netscapes for you.
If you installed from a .tar.gz you downloaded from Netscape directly,
you can de-install it easily - its all in one big directory tree you can
remove recursively.
To find it,
ls -l `which netscape`
All Netscape's customization is inside your own login directory,
so you can always remove all the netscape packages, and then
reinstall just the one you want.
