Sorry I posted so many times. Pine was locking up when I sent and staying
at 0%. Something had goofed on my inet connection and sendmail was
waiting for the mailhost to become available. Well, I retyped my reply
and turns out sendmail had gotten the message even though I had killed the
pine process with 0% of the message sent as far as pine was concerned.
