You're kidding. THAT'S what this has been all about?
1) Ensoniq Soundscape support is available. I think you'll need to rebuild your
kernel, but that's not nearly as scary as it sounds to newbies. Read the
Kernel-HOWTO until you at least know enough to ask an intelligent question, then
ask away: we'll definitely be able to talk you through this one.
2) You couldn't possibly have read all the HOWTO's; or if you did, you were
half-asleep when you read the Ftape-HOWTO. You remember, it's the one that has
such lines as:
Currently, the list of drives that are known to work with ftape is:
[...]
o Colorado 1400
Re-read this HOWTO, then ask us if you still have any questions.
3) The Metro-X X-server that shipped with your copy of Red Hat will handle this
video card and monitor without any trouble. The only difficulty I can think of
is that there may not be a configuration choice for the exact name of your
monitor. If you choose an appropriate generic VESA monitor, then you should
have no problems.
I really don't know what to say about your claims of being as demanding of
yourself as you are of others: plenty of other Linux newbies have managed to
answer their own questions by studying the available documentation or have had
their questions graciously answered by others while being far less demanding and
tiresome.
