Thankyou for responding. I am a registered user of the commercial RH 4.0
distribution.
Yes, I have e-mailed support with a simple question about the
liveboot.img
file which according to the manual distributed with the CD is somewhere
on the CD. I received a few automated responses to which I duly
responded.
This was on 24th of October. There has been no response so far. In the
meantime
I found from this list that the image is not there anyway. I would like
to have it though, since it provides a handy way of booting the system
off
the CD when things go wrong.
I understand the policy of getting the 'distributed user support' by
making
a mailing list available. This is very good, as is the mailing list
archive,
and the RH distribution itself. I am still quite happy I made this
choice.
What I do not approve of is not responding to e-mails, even by saying
(as would suffice in my case) 'no it is not there, we are working on
it'.
I realise what the volume of e-mail is, and the fact that most of it
only ever requires RTFM type of answers. Nevertheless e-mail support
is part of the contract. It should not be there if you can't cope with
it.
I would still buy the CD from you.
