Hmn.
With both Slakware, and RH 3.0.3 I've been successful.
I developed a bit of a procedure.
1. Put in an IDE drive
2. Install onto the IDE
3. Rebuild a kernel on the IDE drive for the 2940
4. With the new kernel, you can reboot and install to the SCSI
(Basically speaking)
Unfortunately I haven't done 4.0 yet.
