Having installed RH4.0 & updated the kernel to 2.0.18, I recompiled
to make the kernel fit my hardware. I first did make mrproper, then make
config, then make dep, then make clean, then make modules, of which there
were just a few, then make modules_install. On rebooting I got a number
of error messages that I do not understand, all but one to the effect that
insmod didn't work for a number of modules that I also do not understand.
If anyone has the patience to explain to me what is going on or wrong
here, I would be grateful. I also am puzzled by the error message at the
last line but one.
I attach below the contents of /var/log/messages for one reboot.
Many thanks.
