I too had the same problem so I tried forcing it to install manually
(nodeps) and when I tried to run it, I got an error about a missing gtk
library which was there. SO I tried compiling everything from source and
the gnome stuff repeatedly bombed while compiling. I've tried just about
everything I can think of and I'm just about ready to scrap it for KDE
which works fine on my system.
