I had this same error.  I got around it by deleting the imlib-devel rpm, 
then running the gnome install script again.  If I remember right (it's 
been a couple of weeks), gnome was trying to upgrade imlib, but 
imlib-devel was installed and depended on imlib, so it complained.  
Getting imlib-devel out of the way was enough to get rid of the error.
