On 28-Nov-98 Lane Lester spluttered:
# Well, Midnight Commander doesn't run in my new install of RH 5.2 (my
# first experience with Linux), and I find xfm to be too primitive to
# be
# acceptable... at least, I =hope= I don't have to accept it. Are
# there
# any other X file managers available?

I like FileRunner. It looks good (no icons, though), it's pretty
intuitive, it's fast, and it's configurable. It's written in
Tcl/Tk, if I remember correctly. There is also kfm, part of KDE, and it
is very Windows-ish in appearance (and it's a lot better looking than
xfm, IMO). I don't know this for a fact, but I'll bet someone's working
on one for Gnome as well.
