for a good-sized (but still not comprehensive) list.

Midnight Commander is a text-mode manager, executed by typing 'mc' in a
terminal window or at the console.

GNU Interactive Tools is another, which is 'git' in an xterm.

TkDesk is X-based, is pretty, and is useful.  Check Red Hat contrib for
an RPM.

FileRunner is very popular among dinosaurish I-hate-pictures types, and
also among people who like to get things done.  It's good work.

The GNOME project has two file managers in the works:  gFile and the
gtk+ version of midnight commander.  Neither is really any fun to try
dealing with unless you are a GNOME developer or you like alpha/beta
software.  Midnight Commander is waaaay further along than gFile, I get
the impression.
