I remember having _some_ problems with the 2940UW and Red Hat 4.0, but
I have no idea if they are related to your problem at all. I'll gladly
try to help you resolve the problem, although if it's not a drive
problem, I don't think I'll be of much help. Please check the easy
stuff first, such as termination. What firmware level do you have
in the drive? Is the drive internal or in an external power enclosure?
It didn't sound like the drive appeared to be hung; is the drive
accessable after the failure with a simple command, such as
"mt -f /dev/st? status"?
