I just got one of these, pulled it out of the box and plugged it into my
Adaptec 2940UW, popped in a tape and tried to tar off some stuff. You
could hear the mechanism doing its thing, moving the tape about, and then a
nice SCSI error. Oops.
This left me scratching my head. I'm not at the machine now so I can't
clip the errors off of the console, but before I blame the drive or the
tape I wonder if I have to twiddle the kernel to support the drive. I'm
running RedHat 4.0, kernel 2.0.27 with no patches.
