NT speaks EtherTalk to deal with macs. You need CAP or NetATalk to let
your linux box talk to them.

For NetAtalk, see
http://artoo.hitchcock.org/~flowerpt/projects/linux-netatalk/

The main site for CAP is
munnari.oz.au:/pub/mac

The current patch level (unless something has come out recently) is 196.

IMHO, CAP has more features (it's what we use), but NetATalk is MUCH
faster, and is getting better. CAP has the big advantage of being able
to authenticate printing (ie. you can't print to a spooled printer unless
you have mounted a volume from the server, thereby authenticating
yourself to it).

There is a list dedicated to discussion of AppleTalk on Linux. To
subscribe, send a message to 'listserv@netspace.org' with a body of

Agreed - Samba is great!
