I assume anything communicated in a public forum can be quoted with or without
the permission of the author as long as proper credit is given. Of course,
many times I'd prefer that my words vanish into never-never land, but
the chance that some stupidity of mine might be quoted as an example of, say,
stupidity on the Internet, assures that I "think before I speak." Copyright
certainly does not demand that i obtain the permission of the author of
every quote used in a text or article, but I certainly would be sued or
publicly ridiculed for misquoting, lying, slandering, etc.
