Curious about the growing potential of the online catalog
environment? Interested in exploring the expanding future of OPAC
design and development made possible by new systems and new
technologies? The LITA Online Catalog Interest Group is seeking
candidates for its Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect for 1992-1994. One of the
oldest LITA Interest Groups, OCIG has a long record of contributions
to LITA and ALA programs. We welcome and encourage your
participation in coming years.

Interested? Please send your name, address (email and postal), and
phone to Mary Engle, OCIG Vice-Chair and incoming Chair for
1992/1993, at MEEUR@UCCMVSA.bitnet by June 25.

The OCIG program at the upcoming ALA annual meeting will be held on
Sunday, June 28 from 9:30 a.m. -- 12:30 a.m., San Francisco
Marriott (Marina D-F). The Online Catalog Interest Group and the
Public Library Association are co-sponsoring an interesting program
titled "Using the Community Information Format" on the new MARC
format for accessing nonbibliographic information. We hope to see
you there!

OCIG's plans for 1993 include exploring the next phase of online
catalog development now that many small and large systems are in
place. Where do we go from here?
