At the National Online Meeting in New York yesterday (May 6), one of
the CD-ROM vendors--I believe it was SIRS CD-ROM--was demonstrating
a help screen on their full-text database that gave examples of citing the
CD-ROM in Turabian, APA, MLA, etc. format. I didn't have the time
to study the examples to see if I thought they had done it right, but
I thought it was a very thoughtful addition to the CD-ROM product.

I am sending this reply to the list, since it appears that
more than one person needs the info. The best source that I
have found is the "National Library of Medicine Recommended
Formats for Bibliographic Citation". Karen Patrias, MLS is
the author. Chapter XII covers electronic information
formats and includes all of the following:
computer programs, databases, serials in electronic
formats, monographs in electronic formats, bulletin
boards and last, but no least, e-mail. It is a 55
page chapter, with examples of each type of
citation. It's very useful.
It can be ordered from NTIS.
Telephone order # (703) 487-4650.
Cost is $24.00, plus they usually charge a handling fee.
Order number for this item : PB91-182030
That should be all you need; hope this is helpful.

The Harvard Bluebook has just added rules on how to cite to electronic
databases and other electronic materials. I hestitated to suggest it
at first, because legal citation forms are often quite different from
other style manuals. However, it may give you some ideas.
