In part, I know from earlier discussions and personal experience, that more public librarians aren't participating in these discussions because they don't have access to the net. But I just received Charles Bailey's latest list of library discussion groups and noted that there are no lists covering public, school or children's librarians' concerns. This too may be a consequence of access to the technology -- how many public libraries have a computer capable of running a listserver? However, I'd like to see such lists created, if for no other reason so that I can have a handy answer the next time a public librarian asks me why they should get on the net. I'm guessing that interest in such lists is building and that someone only needs to take that first step to tap an enormous resource of expertise.
