I may have already posted this opening to this list; if so I apologize.
As the saying goes, the memory is the first thing to go and I forget
what the second thing is.
Serials Acquisitions Librarian
Supervises and trains 5 support staff. Manages serials expenditures of
over $2 million a year. Maintains good vendor relations. Required: MLS
from accredited program, strong academic record, and 2 years serials and/or
acquisitions experience. Desired: Supervisory experience; knowledge of
modern foreign language(s); excellent verbal and written communications
skills; evidence of ability to meet tenure requirements.
Salary minimum is $25,000 (negotiable with experience). Appointment as
Librarian II (Assistant Professor) or Librarian III (Associate Professor)
on 12 month appointment. Tenure track. State teachers' retirement (mandatory);
TIAA and other supplemental retirement plans available; 12 days sick leave,
20 days annual leave, health/life/disability insurance benefits.
Search is currently on-going; applications will be accepted until the
position is filled.
Auburn University, a land-grant university located in east-central Alabama,
has over 21,000 students. Library collection over 1.7 million volumes.
