This is a meek annoucement of a gopher server at the NCSU Libraries. Point your
gopher to dewey.lib.ncsu.edu on port 70. I am trying to implement a "library
without walls."

Below is the welcome text of the server. Use the (slightly dated) map as a
guide to the server's resources.

=========================
Welcome to the Gopher at the North Carolina State University Libraries!

PURPOSE

The purpose of this gopher to provide an organized and accessible means to
Internet resources pertinent to the student, faculty, and staff needs of the
North Carolina State University. The gopher is basically divided into three
parts: Study Carrels, Reference Desk, Beyond NCSU.

STUDY CARRELS

Each of the discipline specific "study carrols" contain Internet resources
pertinent to that discipline. These resources include such things as BBSs,
OPACS, reference works, texts (books or
journals), and indexes.

REFERENCE DESK

The Reference Desk contains Internet resources of very general applicability
that are useful to just about anybody.

BEYOND NCSU

The section Beyond NCSU provides links Internet resources similar to this
gopher. Many of these links are also contained within the Study Carrel.
