I am posting the following message at the request of a friend who
does not have access to PACS-L. Please respond directly to him.
For an upcoming publication by Unesco, I am interested in
learning the names of libraries involved in a "twinning" program
with a library or libraries in another country. I have defined
"twinning" to be an ongoing relationship with a library in
another part of the world for the purposes of improving
librarianship across national boundaries. Typically the benefits
are mutual, but they are not always equal. Twinning activities
include:
* staff exchanges
* exchange of library materials
* exchange of equipment
* exchange of professional and technical
information/research
* assistance with interlibrary loan
* sponsorship of membership in international organizations,
* joint cooperative research or pilot projects
