This is from Huijie Chen at the Music Library, Indiana University. We are
looking for any clues and information to locate an IBM 3270 terminal
emulator that can run under MS Windows through ethernet connection. We
prefer to have a real window solution, instead a DOS program thats run
under windows. If you can help, please let us know. Thank you in
advance.
AT this campus, our library system is
operating under an IBM-based NOTIS system. We (librarians and patrons)
normally access the NOTIS system via Ethernet connection through the campus.
Although we can use NCSA Telnet for our OPACs, it is still perferable to
use 3270 emulation with some operations. We understand that TN3270 can be
used for this purpose for the DOS environment. However, now we are also
moving to the Window environment these days. Some DOS applications can run
smoothly under Windows while some don't. To avoid the possible conflict,
we are looking for real window appliations that can support 3270 emulation
through ethernet connection. This will benifit both librarians and patrons
in this library. Thank you again for your attention.
