Subject: RE: Text/Image Web Searching
I'm finding myself increasingly frustrated by "reply to author" instructions.
Am I
alone? I know we are all busy people bombarded by way too much email, but
I feel the list loses its value when I have to email the recipient to find out
what answers
were received to queries like that below.
One person's opinion,

Please reply to the author, not PACS-L. Thanks, Jack

Campus faculty member is interested in pursuing a project to create a database
of 35m slides and text that would be searchable via the Web. He would like
to find out what has been or is being done with such materials, and what
software is available for creating the database and the search engines needed.
I am posting this to get some ideas to give to him.
