We have a Pointcast server with a library group on the campus channel.
It's experimental at this point, but seems useful for broadcasting brief =
messages and notifying people that the latest edition of publications =
previously distributed in print are now available electronically. We =
hope its less intrusive than broadcasting email each time a new =
publication is
put on the web.
On the other hand, when Pointcast is used as the screensaver, it
is slow in loading and causes some aggravation.
