Sunday, Feb. 16
9:30-11:30 a.m.
Marriott Metro Center, Salon C
Make plans to attend the LITA Vendor/User Interest Group meeting on System
Security and the Web at the ALA Midwinter conference in Washington, D.C.
Join us and discuss different aspects of integrated library system security
and its relationship to the World Wide Web, including:
* Can the Web be secure?
* What is the impact of World Wide Web and client/server technology on
integrated library systems?
* What are the responsibilities of vendors and libraries in providing
security for library systems?
* What are the library's expectations?
* What level of vendor support can be provided, given the growing complexity
of library system configurations.
* What the future challenges to system security?
Share your experiences and ideas on how vendors and users can work together to
ensure system security across systems, platforms, the internet and the Web.
Following the discussion, a brief business meeting will be held. New members
are always welcome.
