I've found an html document that will allow you to script your login to
OCLC FirstSearch and also a CGI script that will do the same thing. If
you have your own server, the CGI script looks like it will work great.
The problem with the html document and the cgi script otherwise, is a
security one. We haven't used either one yet because you have your
authorization and password in the document and script. These are loaded
on a local computer or your ISP's server. We haven't found a way to
limit the access of viewing these files on the server. Netscape allows
you to view any document's source code. If you do this you can see the
authorization and password. I can give you copies of the scripts, but
unless you can put them on your own server, I'd hesitate to use them.
Better yet, tell me how to make them secure and I'll be a happy man!)
