No, that's not it.  Changes in 8.4.25 cause the machine to update the
format on boot, IIRC so as long as the machine is running 8.4.25 that
isn't the problem.  If you read Greg's mail more carefully, you'll
notice that the problem is the missing epochs in the
/var/athena/release-rpms file.  The reason the update to 8.4.26 fixes
the problem is that it puls in the 8.4.26 version of the file from the
release, and it has the correct epoch numbers.
