It all seems to work now, I'm now downloading the software and all the installation went fine. In the debugging window first the 3c90x driver is used. I enter the IP of the machine in consideration and reverse name lookup works this time (clearly an indication that the network is working)... The Kernel messages indicate that the 3com driver is used. After I specify the NFS mount point, it seems that the network card is probed one more time. This time the 3c59x driver is found and the module is inserted, also on the kernel window messages about Donald Becker's driver also appear (strange?)... But, everything works fine from that point on... Thanks a lot for all your help.
