I repeated the install from sipb-nfs, intending to get the exact error
message so that I could make a more specific search for the discrepancy
between the trees (my tree-wide diff was taking forever.) This time,
the install just worked. So either the permissions changes that Sam
affected did the trick (a bunch of files on the sipb-nfs version were
unreadable,) or someone else did something. I'm going to hope it's the
former, and release an announcement. Here it is. I'll send it to
linux-announce when a-w finishes installing and someone with the
relevant social bits OK's the text (or when if I get impatient <wink>.)
SIPB Athena-Linux is finally beta'ing! Get the install instructions
from /afs/sipb/project/doc/ilinux/linux-net-install/rh-net-install.dvi
