It's already fixed for the common case (NFS-based installations to
machines which don't need PCMCIA support when installing).  However,
anything requiring the supplementary disk is still broken because the
new second-stage installer is too big to fit on the supplementary disk
with the 4.2 installation setup.  I've been meaning to figure out how
to make it fit; I'll probably have to compress something.
