What do we want to do about i386_linux1?

   I think it would be a good idea for us to decide what we plan to do
about i386_linux1.  We can continue to 'support' it like we do now,
letting it bitrot into oblivion, or we can push it along.  In other
words, mightn't it be a good idea for programs run from i386_linux1
encourage people to upgrade?  We could write a small script that
uses the send_message program from the swtools locker to do this, that
way it wouldn't overly annoy users.  What do people think?
